Milkshakes, Butter, and No More Bottles

So...Bryce went for his one year check up today and he did awesome for the most part. He was right on track for his head and height, but he was told he needed to pack on a few pounds. He was 18 1/2 lbs. which is the 3rd percentile (still on the charts)! Dr. Crenshaw suggested we start feeding him Pediasure with fiber (which is like a big thick milkshake for babies-and smells like one too), beef up every meal with butter, sugar, etc., and come back for a weight check in a month. Basically whatever I DO NOT need, Bryce needs right now. His weight being a little on the low side is surely not affecting him otherwise though...he is meeting every milestone, beginning to stand alone, taking a few steps, saying Ma Ma, Da Da, and Ba Ba, and keeping Jon and I very busy;) This weekend, he began taking both milk and juice from a sippy cup. Up until now, he has had his milk from a bottle and juice from a sippy. Every time I would try to give him milk from a sippy, he would gag. Thanks to daddy, he gave Bryce milk from his sippy in the middle of the night (it was the first thing he could find while he stumbled around the kitchen in his groggy state of mind.lol). But it worked and we can now declare Bryce man Bottle free. What a big boy. He is sleeping pretty well all the way through the night but he has had a few sleepless nights lately. His one year MMR shot was pretty rough. He had high fever and nausea Thursday night after his check up. NO FUN! We go to Children's in Birmingham for his circumcision in February and for a diagnostic heart cath (they are just taking pictures to stay on top of everything - no problem to fix this time) in March. Hopefully after that, we will be done with BIG STUFF for quite awhile. Please pray for Bryce to continue to heal, grow, and thrive as a strapping young man!!

FEBRUARY IS HEART HEALTH MONTH! EVEN IF ITS JUST $1, PLEASE GIVE! SURGERIES LIKE THE ONE BRYCE HAD WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT DONATIONS AND ORGANIZATIONS LIKE THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION!!

Happy First Birthday Bryce!

Bryce turned one on Monday and boy, did he have a great time. We had his party last Saturday and we had almost 40 people in our home. I decided on a Mickey Mouse theme because he absolutely loves Mickey Mouse. Enjoy the pics! We are so very thankful to have reached this milestone in our little miracle's life and pray for many, many more birthdays for our little man!!

First Christmas

Bryce had an amazing first Christmas! We were so very thankful to have our family together and enjoy all the delights of the holiday season! We had many gatherings with family and friends and even got to show Bryce the Wrights Lights for the first time. We visited with Santa on 3 different occasions and opened many many presents for which we now are looking for a toy box to store them all in! Happy Birthday Jesus! Enjoy the pictures!
